One cool accessory for it would be a bagging elevator, a little wooden arrangement that stands about 5' high, and driven with a flat belt from the mill shaft.

2023.3.18 Hi Guy's, Just started to take a model B grinder apart to restore and am finding some parts that are broke. Will be looking for the breaker pieces on the main shaft part #274F and 275F. The third piece is useable. Agitator bracket 304F with worm gear is missing altogether but could live without it. Any help would be appreciated.

More2011.5.12 Re: IH Model D 10"Burr Mill. A Type C grinder was for shelled corn and was made in 6 8" sizes. The type B was available in 6, 8,10" sizes and had a cob breacker in it. It had a flywheel behind the belt pulley, at least on the early models. The type D had a husk cutter/grinder built into it to handle ear corn with the husks on them.

Sep 20, 2009. #1. Here is a photo of my McCormick Feed grinder. I suspect yours is similar. Mine is a an 8 inch type B. There was also a Type A and a type D and they came in 6, 8 and 10 inch size. The B is designed to grind ear corn but will also grind shell corn or small grain. These are only for livestock feed, not to make corn meal, etc.

2018.8.28 Re: IHC burr mill help needed The larger sizes of IHC grinders came with a 3rd (outboard) bearing and stand. You can safely run the machine without it if you are just demonstrating it at shows. Many other brands (like Letz) offered the extra bearing as an option. The worm gear drove a small spur gear with an offset crank attached to it.

2016.3.26 I had to recreate the hopper for an IHC 8" Type B, but it has a different hopper. Thankfully, the Type D that you have had the smallest/simplest hopper of the 3 styles. The only difficult part, really, was rolling the edge along the top and figuring out how to do the little crimp at the bottom where it joins the frame castings.

2013.5.1 The only double mill I have found reference to is a Appleton #8 but this one looks a fair amount different from the photos of the Appleton that I have seen. The auction listed it as a Mc Cormick Deering Corn / Grain Feeder but its a burr mill with a shaker tray that feeds 2 burr grinders. I will attach a photo of it.
